Executive Director and RIVERKEEPER
 
Jeff Holland comes to the Riverkeeper organization with a background in non-profit management and public relations. He served as Executive Director of the Captain Avery Museum in Shady Side in 2013 and the Executive Director of the Annapolis Maritime Museum from 2001 – 2012. He was recognized by the Anne Arundel County Schools for creating the innovative environmental education program at AMM, “MUDDY FEET,” which stands for “Maritime Unbounded Damp and Dirty Yucky Fun Environmental Education and Training.” He was named “Heritage Professional of the Year” by the Four Rivers Heritage Area in 2012. Governor Martin O’Malley appointed him as a Maryland delegate on the Citizens Advisory Committee to the Chesapeake Bay Program in 2011. A singer and songwriter inspired by the Bay, Jeff was named “Poet Laureate of Eastport” in 1994 and was a founding member of the Chesapeake folk groups Crab Alley and Them Eastport Oyster Boys. Jeff enjoys fishing, kayaking and biking, often along the same creek or river somewhere in the Chesapeake Bay watershed. He lives with his wife, Louise White, in Annapolis.
