Join us at the Chesapeake Bay Foundation for the results of the South River Snapshot. West/Rhode Riverkeeper volunteers collected samples from streams and the rivers in our watershed in early April. The presentation will be given by Chris Trumbauer, our newly named Riverkeeper! Light refreshments will be served. |
May 23rd | The Honeydipper Launches for 2008 Season | The West and Rhode Rivers of Anne Arundel County will run the Honeydipper pump-out boat for its second season.

May 17th | 3rd Annual Wade-In and Kayak Race (races at 9AM, wade-in at 11AM) |
There will be early morning kayak races and a wade-in at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center
(SERC) coinciding with the SERC Open House.
There will be a beginner/casual paddle and a longer race for all of the extreme paddlers out there!

April 20th | Ride4Melanoma Bike Race Start between 8-10 AM End by 3 PM Galesville, MD |
A day of cycling along the shores of the Chesapeake Bay. Enjoy rides of 10, 20, and 45 miles through rolling horse and farm country while witnessing spectacular views of the Chesapeake Bay and surrounding waterways. Join Team Ride4Melanoma in their support of the Children’s Melanoma Prevention Foundation and their efforts to educate children about sun safety and skin cancer prevention. Stop by the Riverkeeper table! |

The spring Creek Watcher meeting theme is "What You Can Do!" We will discuss best practices in lawncare, rain gardens, community-supported agriculture and co-operative food purchasing, show a live demonstration of rain barrel installation, and much more! |
April 12th | South River Federation Snapshot | We will be joining the South River Federation for a day of water testing in the West/Rhode Watershed. We will sample 12 sites simultaneously (within a two hour period) to create a "Snapshot" of river conditions. |
