The West & Rhode Riverkeeper presents "Rumba on the River," a romantic after-dinner "dessert dance" on Valentine’s Eve featuring decadent chocolate deserts and dancing to Rumba Club, the legendary ten-piece ensemble that has won the title of "Best Latin Music Group" by the Washington Area Music Association 15 times.
The dance takes place on Saturday, February 13, 2016, from 8 - 11 p.m. at the Galesville Memorial Hall.
Latin Beat magazine has called Rumba Club “the finest dancing and listening music possible.” They’ve performed all over the U.S. including the Blue Note in Manhattan and Birdland, “the jazz corner of the world,” and they’ve shared the stage with Latin greats like Tito Puente. Now they’re performing in Galesville to benefit the West & Rhode Riverkeeper’s efforts to make the rivers fishable, swimmable, crab-able and kayak-able.
Decadent chocolate desserts will be served, along with wine, beer and a special “River Rumba Punch.” A silent auction will feature luxury items and alluring adventures, any one of which is sure to make the perfect Valentine’s Day gift.
Admission: $40 per person / $75 per couple
