ChesaTreks presents Saltwater Fly Fishing by Kayak
In the latest of its new series of “ChesaTreks” adventures, the West & Rhode Riverkeeper, in partnership with the Free State Fly Fishers Club and Snaggedline.com, will present an on-the-water lesson on fly fishing by kayak at Discovery Village in Shady Side on Saturday, August 27, from 8 a.m. to noon.
Participants must bring their own fly fishing gear, and can bring their own kayak or a kayak can be provided. The session will be followed by a waterside picnic lunch. The cost is $50 per person, including lunch. Reservations are required. Call or log on to https://co.clickandpledge.com/?wid=120700 .
Instructors from the Free State Fly Fishers Club and Snaggedline.com will provide tips on how to catch saltwater fish from a kayak for a group of 12 paddlers. Kayaks will launch from Discovery Village in Shady Side at Parrish Creek near the mouth of West River.
Proceeds from the ChesaTreks programs help the Riverkeeper keep the West & Rhode Rivers fishable, swimmable, kayak-able and crab-able.
